Annie’s Girls – Handmade Dolls Celebrating Black Beauty
Michele Sapp is the artist behind the beautiful “Annie’s Girls” dolls, created in honor of her grandmother, Annie — a proud, independent, and spirited African-American woman who never forgot her humble beginnings. Blessed with a loving family, a wealth of talent, and the gift of “creating something from nothing,” Annie saw beauty in the simplest of objects. These one-of-a-kind dolls pay tribute to her unique vision and the enduring spirit of all women. Michele’s work can also be found at the Detroit Institute of Arts Gift Shop.
